Kobalt and partners launch new neighbouring-rights organisation

Kobalt is teaming up with publishing companies Wixen Music UK and Inside Baseball Music Publishing to launch a new organisation called IAFAR - which “protects and advocates for those in neighbouring and related rights”.

The plan is to run workshops, seminars and produce publications to educate artists and the industry about neighbouring rights - one of the lesser-understood areas of our business. Kobalt's Neighbouring Rights MD Ann Tausis explained in a statement:

Anyone who is a performing artist or represents at least one performing artist and is not a collective management organisation, may become a member of IAFAR. We have had great interest from the industry so far, confirming the genuine need for this organisation. Strength in numbers, power in knowledge.
