There Will Be an Escape Hatch

The pain written on my skin
Can't be seen from the jet stream
I stare and I try
But the patterns just die
Footsteps to the past at will
And what it came to fulfill
I was lost from this
Does it even exist?

Because I knew that it wouldn't
This one distraction from myself

If we can walk this final mile
Maybe this could live for a while
And to disappear
It begins here

Not in that echoes here through me
Not in the fields of geography

Maybe one day
At some point

But there will be an escape hatch
Go with your heart and your body goes

Just leave the notes behind
Leave them to drift up to the clouds
