River Deep Mountain High - Live 1977

Thank you
Thank you very much
My friend over here
Mister Steinman

We have an Idol
His name is Phil Spector
He wrote a song
With miss Tina Turner did called River Deep Mountain High
You got it

When you were younger
Need to have a rag doll
Only doll you've ever owned
Now I love you just the way you loved that rag doll
Only now my love has grown

And it gets stronger baby, in every way
And it gets deeper baby, let me say
And it gets higher, day by day

And do I love you my oh my
River deep, mountain high
If I lost you would I cry
Oh how I love you baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby

When you were a young boy
Did you have a puppy (you got it mama)
Always followed you around
Well I'm gonna be as faithful as that puppy (promise)
I'll never gonna let you down (never)

Cause it grows stronger, like a river flows
And it gets sweeter baby, let me say
And it gets bigger baby, day by day

And do I love you my oh my
River deep, mountain high
If I lost you would I cry
Oh how I love you baby, baby, baby

Hey sweetheart come here
Oh
You don't know how much I love you sweetheart
You got no idea
No idea
But let me try to tell you

I love you baby like a flower loves the spring
I love you baby just like Robin loves to sing
I love you baby like a school boy loves his pet
I love you baby, river deep, mountain high
Baby, baby, oh baby
Baby, yeah baby, baby, baby

Do I love you my oh my
River deep, mountain high
If I lost you would I cry
Oh how I love you baby, baby, baby

Do I love you my oh my
River deep, mountain high
If I lost you would I cry
Oh how I love you baby, baby, baby

Do I love you my oh my
River deep, mountain high
If I lost you would I cry
Oh how I love you baby, baby, baby

You know they told me what would happen
But I didn't believe that
And it did it has
Meat Loaf has come off the stage and collapsed
I was told this happen just about every performance he gives
He gives so much of himself that he collapses and they have um
3 tanks of oxygen ready for him at the end of the performances

Because he's gonna need it
I don't think that will be another encore
His lying prone on the floor
There's a very small hallway between the dressing room and backstage area
And he's um, lying on the floor face down obviously out of it
Like I said I would never have believed it
I-I was told this is gonna happen

Starting to get up very slowly now
And a couple of um, his roadies are down there
Appears to be okay it's just a-a question of exaustion
You can hear the crowd they want more
Meat Loaf, Meat Loaf, Meat Loaf, Meat Loaf, Meat Loaf
This is almost like a boxing match
To whether the guy on match is gonna get up and finish the bout

Or wheter he's down for the counting
He's getting up now
Incredible he's up and walking toward the stage
Amazing thing is nobody in the backstage on to the garage look shocked at all
It's a common place occurence
And he's back on stage

Amazing, now the people in flont knew what would happen backstage
They just um, wouldn't believe it
Let me tell y'all something
