Through The Trees

Through the trees with the whispering leaves
Where a blanket of black tucks the sun in for sleep
I catch the eyes of the stars in the sky
Blinking away as they watch me tonight
She left me here after breaking my heart
But it's on me, I knew she was grief from the start
Looking up to the heaven's above
There's no constellation showing me any love

As the wind blows through the trees
I can hear her speak to me

Now back on the gated community turf
Where the call to come home just gets lost in the surf
All the neighbors have bolted their doors
While the line that I walk opens out to the shore
Yeah I know I'm down since I heard her goodbye
Some reminder of how I'd been living a lie
Stepping out on the water's reflected moonlight
Got me shivering cold after sinking from sight

When the tide goes out to sea
I can feel her haunting me
Singing la la la la...

So I'm feeling like one when I thought it was two
Listening to whispers from out of the blue
Dangling on I look out at the floor
There's no ocean, no sunrise, no me anymore

As the wind blows through the trees
Let it come and set me free
