Someone in the Road
I was riding down the highway
I thought I spotted someone in the road
So I said, "You goin' my way?"
But he turned his head, "Man, I don't know."
So I asked about his government
He turned his head, then began to laugh
So I asked him, "What you runnin' from?"
He said, "My man, I'm runnin' from my past."
So we laughed aloud, and sang aloud
Then we drank a brew
Didn't think a thought about Mr. Brown, he's through
Heard the loud, marching sound
There's a revolution coming through
Don't need to come around unless you're true
Someone in the road
We kept on driving down that road for about an hour and a half
The way that we was moving left had myself reflecting in the past
You know I'm tired of endless talk
Stopped the car and started walking down a path
I lift my spirit to my heart, I know hatred will never last
So we laughed aloud, and sang aloud
Then we drank a brew
Didn't think a thought about Mr. Brown, he's through
Heard the loud, marching sound
There's a revolution coming through
Don't need to come around unless you been true
Laugh aloud, and sang aloud
And then we drank a brew
Didn't think a thought about Mr. Brown, that man is through
Heard the loud, marching sound
There's a revolution coming through
No need to come around unless
You can laugh, and think that we're here
At a cost
Oh I try to know these times are short
And I live to learn and burn with em all
Could you laugh and sing
If you're lost well I am not lost
I thought I spotted someone in the road
So I said, "You goin' my way?"
But he turned his head, "Man, I don't know."
So I asked about his government
He turned his head, then began to laugh
So I asked him, "What you runnin' from?"
He said, "My man, I'm runnin' from my past."
So we laughed aloud, and sang aloud
Then we drank a brew
Didn't think a thought about Mr. Brown, he's through
Heard the loud, marching sound
There's a revolution coming through
Don't need to come around unless you're true
Someone in the road
We kept on driving down that road for about an hour and a half
