For the Birds

I saw an unfeathered bird trying to fly
And he flapped his little wings so hard
But he never found the sky
And I knew that he would die down there
So I picked him up and put him where
He could be with all his unfeathered friends
In a nest that he could stay in for awhile
Awhile

And another bird flew down from in a tree
And he flew into a window
That all the other birds could see

And I knew that he would break his bones
If he didn't learn to take it slow
Think about the world around him
And question what the answers are and why
and why

And everyone's got their own questions to ponder
And everyone's got their own deserts to wander
But the ugly truth, the ugly truth is that sometimes
A bird is gonna die

A bird is gonna die

And everyone's got their own questions to ponder
And everyone's got their own deserts to wander
But the ugly truth, the ugly truth is that sometimes
A bird is gonna die
A bird is gonna die
A bird is gonna die
A bird is gonna die
