Salutations! to one who is complete, to the one who is free from bondage, who is Shiva!
Usiranu kayalu, Hasiranu needida,
He has given greenery(trees) to provide us fresh air
Irulanu neegalu, hagalanu needida
He has given us day to pass the night peacefully
sharnu enalu, ivanu olidu baruva
He showers grace upon those who salute him
eduru nillalu ivanu munide bediva
He becomes angry agaist

thayige magane jiva aa maganige thayea daiva
for the mother her son is life, for the son the mother is God
illi tyaga preetiya karulina banda nodu,
sacrifice and unconditional love, see the mother son bondage ('karulu' meaning umblical chord)
jagada baari sagarava jigidu eeji meerisuva prabara dairya neediruva shivane
Verily Shiva has given the immense courage to swim past the vast ocean of this jagath/samsara
