Starlight (Commentary)
It was six years ago that Taylor Swift released her Red album
And we are celebrating that anniversary
By taking a look back and remembering when we talked to Taylor
When she first released this album
And I remember talking to her about 'Starlight'
And I loved it because of what inspired the song
And this is how Taylor explained 'Starlight'
The song 'Starlight' is a song that I wrote
About maybe a year and a half ago
I saw a picture of, um, Ethel Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy
When they were like 17 and they were at a dance
And um, I didn't know the story behind it
But I just kind of made up a story
'Cause I was really inspired by how carefree they looked
And I ended up getting to meet Ethel a few months later
And play the song for her, and she loved it
She was so excited, so it was a really wonderful experience
To get to write that song and then play it for her
