Ten Year Plan

Until recently, I had everything set up
I exactly knew where we were heading
But now I've lost my way and look at shards of opportunities
Broken new and old opportunities, the world is new and changed
And I just wish my ten-year plan would work, would work, would work, it won't

A thousand moments flying by, and I don't know why but I have to cry
The drain is unclogged
Brain no longer fog and my thoughts are logged in for this soliloquy
Recorded for posterity and as you might see I'm uprooted deeply
But I can replant because I don't resent a new opportunity

Dream diary, empty pages have been filled for years, and now, and now, and now
Dream diary, there I see shelved, dusty buried dreams

Until recently, I had everything set up
I exactly knew where we were heading
But who knows what tomorrow has in store
How to calculate, how to plan ahead for this
An unstable world, everything's a challenge
Ride the wave and hope it doesn't knock you down

Course correct, I have everything set up
I exactly know where we are heading
Once more I've found my way and look at shiny opportunities
