The Bad In Each Other, it felt like a return
That's why I wanted it to be the first song
And it has in it sort of, the sort of rock, rocky as in like, like stones
This percussion is very elemental and really simple, but giant, like a bit like an avalanche
Just like, clear the rocks or like rolling down the mountain towards you
And um, so it felt like that's a way to blast open the beginning of the album
And make sure that I started with something that really spoke to what the whole record is

Um, whereas you would assume in my last two records
I kind of eased in with ballads right at the beginning, like a little gate opening quietly
Well, Gatekeeper being one of the first songs
But in this case, it's a very really different record
So to establish that from the first like-
And I'm singing with one of my favorite singers named Bry Webb
He's a Canadian singer
He has an amazing band called 'The Constantines', and I've admired him for years
So to get to sing with him in the choruses was-
